What Is AEE?
The Association for Experiential Education (AEE) is a not-for-profit, international professional organization with roots in adventure education, committed to the development, practice, and evaluation of experiential learning in all settings.
The mission of the Association for Experiential Education is to develop and promote experiential education. The Association is committed to support professional development, theoretical advancement, and evaluation of experiential education worldwide.
In the early 1970s, a group of educators assembled in Boone, North Carolina, USA to discuss ways in which education could be made more relevant for students. These people knew that the core of learning is greatly enhanced by experiential forms of education.
